This Privacy Policy explains how InterviewVault ("InterviewVault", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (or, if you sign in with a third-party provider, the basic profile that provider shares). You may also choose a username.
- Contributions you submit. If you contribute an interview report, we collect the content you provide and any proof files you upload (for example, screenshots). Uploaded files are stored privately and reviewed by our team.
- Points and transaction data. We keep a record of your points balance, unlocks, and the ledger of points earned, spent, and purchased.
- Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number — Stripe handles payment details directly. We retain a payment reference and the package purchased to credit your account and prevent duplicate charges.
- Usage and device data. Through our analytics provider we collect pages viewed, actions taken (such as signing up, unlocking a question, or completing a purchase), approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device information, and similar technical data.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
- Process purchases, credit points, and prevent fraud and duplicate charges.
- Review, publish, and reward approved contributions.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.

Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their functions:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to measure how the Service is used. Authentication cookies are necessary for the Service to function. Analytics cookies help us understand usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain transaction and contribution records for longer where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information except where we are required to retain it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, or to delete your account, reach us through our contact page. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where your data is processed
Our service providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from Canada or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in those countries, where it may be subject to local laws and lawful access by authorities. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
